From amateur freestylers to the organisation of sports, music and cultural events, Les Wetzayers has impacted an entire generation of Les Gets’ inhabitant. A fantastic human adventure that will leave lasting memories for its passionate young volunteers, proud to have produced a unique and renowned local event: the Ebouelle Contest!

The last edition in 2013 brought together 15,000 people over 4 days and was the final curtain for the organisation… In 2020, after a 7-year break and their desire to “make things happen in the village” as strong as ever, the Wetzayers are well and truly back with a new and exclusive mountain event: ALAMBIKE!

2002, creation of the association

Alpine skiers turned freestyle sums up the original spirit of the Wetzayers! Founded in 2002, the association now has around twenty members from Les Gets and the surrounding area… Historically, the association’s aim has been to get together and enjoy the thrills of winter sports at a range of original outings and events. Over time, the members decided they wanted to share “their spirit” through the production of films and organise a number of events (concerts, film evenings). With these experiences behind them, the association has done great things (heliski jump, road gaps…) and has been successful from a sporting point of view!

Event management expertise

In 2005, this growing desire to share their passion led the Wetzayers to organise the first Ebouelle Contest: an event based on the culture of freestyle skiing (skiing, graphic art, music) which from one edition to the next (eight in total) became a recognised and must-attend event at the end of the winter season! Over time and up until 2013, event organisation became the association’s leitmotiv, enabling members to develop a network and also gain experience in event management…

Ebouelle Contest (eight events), Savaferkoff Cup, Gets Envie de Rock, sports tournaments, concerts, events. After a break lasting several years, the WETZAYERS are back to continue the adventure with a desire to offer (once again) top-quality events for the general public, in the resort of Les Gets, “their” village!
